Well my girlfriend plays the guitar a little and I've always wanted to learn how to play a Banjo (Yes I'm kinda a redneck ) Anywho, is it harder or about the same as playing a guitar and I want to play the "dueling Banjo" song with my girlfriend she plays the Guitar and I'll play the Banjo. Well I can play a little on the Guitar, my girlfriends been showing me a few things and I was just wondering how much different or if a Banjo is harder.

I say give it a shot dude, I wouldn't imagine it being to hard or harder. If you know basic guitar a transition to banjo would be easier then straight into banjo.

Yeah definitely the biggest problem with instruments are the cost haha. But in my opinion its totally worth it.

Yeah banjos are a total badass instrument when played properly haha, yeah music is definitely my life haha. Seeing I spend 3-4 hours a day playing guitar, 2 Hours on music forums. And I'm constantly reading about music, my ipod or itunes basically run 24/7. Im setting up a studio in my bedroom at the moment, spent $1500 so far. somewhere in there I have to fit school in haha.

Dam! Well Its good your dedicated to what you like. Same reason I made my forum about the M1 Carbine. I'm a huge gun person. But when working on a rifle or what ever. I'm usually listening to music!

I went and looked at some Banjo's and there slightly out of my price range at the moment. Guitar Center is a little pricey.

I got my Banjo for £135. I have only just started learning. I have a 4 string and it's rather annoying as most videos on youtube are 5 string!

I have played guitar for 15 years and actually I am finding the Banjo quite hard. It is a fantastic instrument though.
